About Laura

I'm Laura Gilligan owner of Energy Work By Laura, an energy balancing studio serving greater Hunterdon County, NJ.  I am a Reiki Master practitioner and I am trained and certified under Donna Eden as an Eden Energy Medicine Advanced practitioner and Authorized Teacher of The Eden Method. I've devoted years to studying various energy methods and techniques, which I feel very passionate about.  These energy methods give me the knowledge and skills to begin the process of assessing where the bodies energies are blocked or not in harmony and then assist in restoring balance, energetic flow and aligning the body's energies to boost overall well being and vitality.

I consider myself to be a highly intuitive, genuine, nurturing, safe presence.  My focus is to listen to you and to the language of your body's innate wisdom and guidance.  My energy balancing services are designed to teach you how it’s possible to tune in and feel more connected, protected and balanced.  I believe this is really important because if you don't feel connected to earth, community and family you can feel very alone, not in touch with yourself, your body's energetic core, or to your calling in life.  Many of us are looking to mend those parts of ourselves that need mending and to feel connected and a part of something in this life.

I offer Reiki and The Eden Method energy balancing sessions, My intention is to create a safe space to help you tap into your true magnificent self; re-connecting you to your inner guidance and universal energy.  Creating the opportunity to bring better balance to you as a whole; on a mind, body and soul level.  Follow up simple self care suggestions will be given at the end of each session designed to assist and empower you on your self-healing journey.

I began my own holistic health journey over 20 years ago when I first became a mother.  Both of my children had frequent asthma attacks along with a few other medical issues and were on all sorts of medications to manage them.  I started searching for a complementary holistic approach to treating their asthma and came across a wonderful local holistic doctor and energy worker.  I was amazed and pleased to see a direct correlation with the energy work sessions my children were receiving and a significant decline in asthma attacks and the reduction in the need for multiple asthma medications. 

In 2009, I decided to take further charge of my family's health and became certified in Reiki.  During my Reiki training I was introduced to a book written by Donna Eden called "Energy Medicine".  I was fascinated by Donna's energy work, tapping into nine energy systems as opposed to just one energy system.  I immediately began learning the Daily Energy Routine and some of Donna's other wonderful energy balancing techniques.

In 2015, I  took my daughter to a local Eden Method practitioner for a mental block in tumbling which happened after sustaining a concussion during cheer practice.  I had already tried various other modalities, none of which resolved the issue.  After just a few sessions, my daughter's mental block released!  I also started seeing the same practitioner for stress and to help me cope with the then recent loss of my mother.  Again, the sessions were amazing and transforming.  I felt empowered and thus began my journey as a student in Donna Eden’s Certification program in 2017.  

I have also been studying under Prune Harris, an energy expert and medical intuitive, since 2019.  Completing many of her advanced level practitioner courses.
